5.Access to Information Technology
In a computer age where technology has reduced the world into a global village, information and communication technology amongst the rural people is till an unrealized dream. Internet access is either unreliable or too expensive and people too poor to afford.
SEN in its effort to facilitate the awareness and access of information and communication technology to the rural people of Niger Delta; we hope to facilitate training for youths and women on marketable skills such as managing operating system, maintaining hardware and how to use word processors, spreadsheets, etc.
SEN will facilitate community-run computer schools in some selected communities in the Niger Delta region. SEN anticipate to run Internet-based information service on social and economic development in the Niger Delta region that will keep NGOs, development workers and local communities informed and up-to date. It will provide a unique opportunity to many development organizations currently with or without any Internet presence to be connected online.
