1. Promoting Environmental Conservation
The increasing environmental degradation in the Niger Delta region which are as result of the exploration and exploitation activities of the multi-national Oil Companies that have impacted the people and their environment such as loss of forestry and aquatic animals; de-vegetation and other forms of ecological damage; destruction or reduction of agricultural wand related activities; loss of drinking and industrial water - etc.

The need to mobilize the youths and women using environmental education as a vehicle to environmental and sustainable development strategies and actions through interactive hands-on/off activities on environmental conservation; Leadership and development education; lifelong Learning skills etc that can enhance life skills of the youths and women becomes imperative.

SEN is currently carrying out capacity building training workshop for members of the school Conservation Clubs and Young Reporters of the Environment (SCC/YRE) in selected secondary schools in Rivers State. The expected outcome such as, the students are placed in active situations, outside their school which encourages them to be environmentally response, able to take initiative and communicate efficiently and effectively, and responsible for their actions.

Volunteers on environment and development are involved in the facilitation of the conservation clubs while the youth volunteers trained (Young Reporters of the Environment) participate in the running of the environmental conservation activities.

The youth and professional volunteers have been playing key role in the replication of the worthy idea and making it accessible to larger population SEN is challenged to access funs and draw volunteers into its fold, these to sustain their enthusiasm and integrate their needs with the organization's goal and objectives.
